Sergeant Major House enlisted in the Marine Corps June 14, 1989 and completed recruit training at Parris Island in September of 1989.  Upon graduation from Marine Combat Training, he reported to Marine Corps Service Support School aboard Camp Johnson, North Carolina for Automotive Organizational Maintenance Course.

In March of 1990, he was transferred to 9th Motor Transport Battalion, Okinawa Japan for duty with Headquarters and Service Company.  During his tour, he participated in the Korean exercise Team Spirit. He was promoted to Lance Corporal in August of 1990. In March of 1992, he was transferred to Marine Security Guard Battalion, Quantico Virginia.

He was promoted in May of 1992 to the rank of Corporal. Following graduation from Marine Security Guard School in June of 1992, he was assigned to American Embassy, Bangkok Thailand for duty.  His subsequent assignment was at American Embassy, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for duty, where he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in December of 1993.  With a successful tour, he received orders to 2D Maintenance Battalion, Camp Lejeune, N.C. for duty.

Sergeant House reported for duty in March of 1995 and was assigned to 2nd Platoon, Motor Transport Maintenance Company.  He was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant in March of 1998. In addition to the billets held, he participated in numerous exercises such as Combined Arms Exercises 97, and served as Maintenance Chief in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba in support of Joint Task Force-160. In April of 1999, he received orders to Inspector, Instructor Duty, Naval Station Roosevelt Roads in Puerto Rico.

While serving as Motor Transport Chief on Inspector and Instructor duty, he graduated from Central Texas College in December 2001 with an Associate’s Degree.  He was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant in November of 2001, with a subsequent assignment to II MHG, 8th Communication Battalion.

Gunnery Sergeant House reported to 8th Comm Bn, Camp Lejeune, N.C. for duty as Motor Transport Chief for Service Company, Motor Transport Platoon in May of 2002. During his tour, he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from February through June of 2003.  He graduated from the Amphibious Warfare School Seminar in March of 2004. In July of 2005, he received orders to 3D Materiel Readiness Battalion, 3D Force Service Support Group.

Upon reporting to 3D MRBn in August of 2005, he was assigned to Headquarters and Service Company, S-3 as the Battalion Training Chief.  He was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant in February of 2007, and was reassigned to 1st Battalion, 8th Marines, 2D Marine Division for duty.

In March 2007 First Sergeant House was transferred to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina for duty with Company A, 1st Bn, 8th Marine Regiment as the Company First Sergeant.  During his tour with 1st Bn, 8th Marine Regiment, he deployed in support of OIFs 06-08.1, and 09.2. In December of 2009, First Sergeant House received orders to Marine Corps Engineer School, Courthouse Bay, Camp Lejeune, NC, as Combat Engineer Instruction Company’s First Sergeant.

On June 14 2011, First Sergeant House was frocked to his present rank and posted as the Sergeant Major, Marine Air Support Squadron 1, Marine Air Control Group 28, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing.  From August 2011 through March 2012 he deployed to Afghanistan as the Marine Air Control Group Forward Sergeant Major in support of OEF 11.2.

From November 2013 through June 2016, SgtMaj House was the Sergeant Major for Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 24, Marine Aircraft Group 24, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing.

Sergeant Major House’s personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with three gold stars, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two gold stars, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with gold star.
