Master Sergeant Joshua L. Bloomingdale Senior Enlisted Advisor

Master Sergeant Bloomingdale enlisted on July 26, 1999 and attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California and Marine Combat Training (MCT) at Camp Pendleton, California. Following MCT Private Bloomingdale attended Naval Aircrew Candidate School, and Aviation Machinist's Mate ‘A’ School at Marine Air Training Support Group 31, NAS Pensacola, Florida.

In 2000 upon completion of initial MOS training, Private Bloomingdale, reported to VMGRT-253, Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point (MCAS), NC to complete follow on training as a KC-130 Flight Mechanic. In 2001, Lance Corporal Bloomingdale earned his final designation as a KC-130F/R/T Flight Mechanic and was subsequently assigned to VMGR-352, Marine Air Group (MAG) 11, 3RD Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW).

Corporal Bloomingdale deployed in December of 2001 as a Flight Mechanic with VMGR-352 (DET A) to Shahbaz Air Base, Jacobabad, Pakistan in support of Task Force 58, during Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). In 2003, Sergeant Bloomingdale again deployed, as part of a 24 plane KC-130 detachment, to Sheik Isa Air Base, Bahrain in support of I MEF (FWD) during Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and, to Al Asad air base, Iraq in support of 3RD MAW (FWD).

Staff Sergeant Bloomingdale was assigned to VMGR-152 as one of two instructors for KC-130J program and the Crew Chief SNCOIC. During his time in VMGR-152 he participated in multiple multinational training exercises and humanitarian assistance disaster relief operations. Staff Sergeant Bloomingdale deployed again in 2009 to Kandahar Air Base, AF.

In 2010, Staff Sergeant Bloomingdale transferred to Fleet Logistics Support Squadron One, VR-1, aboard Naval Air Facility, Washington DC, to join the Commandant of the Marine Corps’ flight detachment. During this assignment Staff Sergeant Bloomingdale served at the fiscal chief, the operations chief, the Naval Air Training and Operating Procedures Standardization chief, and as a crew chief for flights supporting the Secretary of the Navy, Chief of Naval Operations, the Commandant of the Marine Corps, and other high level Navy and Marine Corps officials.

In August of 2013 Gunnery Sergeant Bloomingdale reported to VMGR-252, MAG-14, 2D MAW and deployed in support of SPMAGTF-CR 14.1, SPMAGTF-CR-AF 15.2, and SPMAGTF-CR-AF 17.1. While serving with VMGR-252 MSgt Bloomingdale served as the Crewmaster Work Center Supervisor, Assistant Crewmaster Maintenance Division Chief, Aircrew Training Chief, and the Crewmaster Maintenance Division Chief.

In December of 2017 Master Sergeant Bloomingdale reported to his current command, the KC-130J Fleet Replacement Detachment (FRD), MAG-14, 2D MAW to fulfill the roles of KC-130J Crewmaster Program Manager and KC-130J FRD Senior Enlisted Advisor.

Master Sergeant Bloomingdale’s personal awards include the Air Medal with 16 strike flights, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with three gold stars, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with three gold stars, the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Award, and various campaign and service awards.
